Hands down, one of the greatest festival recordings ever. After being unavailable for nearly 20 years, this great 2-record set from 1973 is available again. The dates: September 8-10, 1972, the place: Otis Spann Memorial Field, Ann Arbor, MI, the performers recorded: Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf with Hubert Sumlin, Otis Rush, Magic Sam, Freddie King, Luther Allison, Hound Dog Taylor, Koko Taylor with Willie Dixon, Bobby Blue Bland, Dr. John, Chuck Leavell, Jr. Walker and The All Stars, Johnny Shines, Bonnie Raitt, Sippie Wallace and Sun Ra and His Solar Myth. An incredible three days of powerful music for the 15,000 plus in attendance, that hopefully someday will be revisited with the full sets by each artist including those who also performed, but are not represented in this LP, like Miles Davis, Pharaoh Sanders, and Lightnin' Slim.
