It's ok

The reviews are pretty varied here so I decided to do an A/B test with my original. I think the bass and drums are way better on this new pressing but the vocals and Alex's guitar don't sound as present and clean as they do on the original. And my original is quite scuffed up.

The cover art looked like it came from a cheap printer. Fuzzy and lacked crispness. The inner sleeve is in B&W, not color like the original and it's a flap not a solid inner sleeve.

If you can get an original in Mint condition on Ebay, you're better off I think.

I don't know what time of the month it was for some of the negative posters but my goodness this is one of the best remasters i have heard. This is one of my favorite albums from my youth so that may have something to do with my enthusiasm. Buy it!

I'm not sure what Lp some of the other reviewer's are taking about but this is the same mastering as the DCC vinyl that was put out in 1998,in the run out groove you can see KG/SH which is Kevin Grey/Steve Hoffman(LP2-2066-A-1S)So needless to say this Lp is jaw dropping. This blows away the original warner brothers release. The vinly is clean and quiet. It's a no brainer here folks.

Find a good copy of the original.

What a dissappointing wait. Across the frequency spectrum, this reissue falls short. E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g is muddy. Bass is there but not clean, mids are flat and so is the high end. Davis Lee Roths vocals are all but hidden in this mix. This really suprises me as I have learned that this is actually a repressing of the DCC remaster done by Steve Hoffman back in 1998 that has been coveted for it's brilliance. Look in the dead wax for KG/SH "Kevin Grey/Steve Hoffman and also LPZ-2066 which is the DCC catalogue number. Personnally, I much prefer my original pressing. Just gave it a good disc doctor cleaning.

Sound quality is horrible. No re-mastering, sounds as if it was produced from the analog cassette. Save your money and buy two copies of Pearl Jam-Ten or Pink Floyd or whatever got better reviews. I cannot understand how someone could rate this above 1 star, they obviously have not heard clear analog vinyl sound. I hope I saved you $25, so you can now buy me a beer through paypal....Thanks!

OK, I'm pushing 40, had an older brother with a huge record collection and only bought records growing up - no tapes, little CD until the 90s when LPs were hard to find. That said, this RTI pressing is one of the BEST rock pressings I have from ANY era of LPs... it's flawless. To critique the LP I have would be an admission of not being able to enjoy life. It's got space, it's got definition, it's got air with sweet decay and fast attack. That's just the recording. When you factor in the awesome performance from the band from track 1 through track 11 you have to take a deep breath and say, whoa. It's hot people. HOT! I'll give you that not all LPs from a run are the same, but mine is &*#%#&@ sweet!~ I've been spinning it tirelessly since I got it. Luvs, Luvs, LOVES IT!

This remix is incredible;however, it doesn't stand the test of time musically. It's like one of those movies that you thought was funny when you we're a kid but you watch it again and wonder what the hell you were thinking. There are only a couple of songs on here that are actually good and "Eruption" isn't as impressive as it was when you were 16 playing air guitar.

If you can find Fair Warning and Women and Children First used on LP you will be much happier. They sound great without the re-mix and the songs are much better.

Waited Too Long to be Disappointed

Very disappointing after waiting over 5 months on backorder. The pressing is very noisy and I am not sure the right channel exists on side one. Deep bass is very flabby and equalization on each cut is different. Too bright, too soft, instruments too forward or recessed and overall poor soundstage. OK if you are a Van Halen fanatic.
