"This set of eight 45rpm LPs might be the most luxurious item I own, but it's a slice of nirvana…The sound is unbelievable, and the quality and packaging are just as wonderful." Stereophile Records To Die For – Brian Damkroger, Stereophile, February 2008
Think these classic CCR songs sounded better than ever on Analogue Productions' recent LP reissues? Well, you're right of course.
Or at least you WERE right. Now they sound even better. That's because we've cut the choicest tracks from each of these seven albums at 45 RPM. With so few songs on each side (some releases have only one song per side) and at 45 RPM, your cartridge is going to track better and ultimately SING sweeter.
With the biggest hits from each record (packaged in replicas of the original jackets), you'll get in-depth liners by rock critic extraordinare Ben Fong-Torres of Rolling Stone fame, and photos by Baron Wolman and Didi Zill, both of whom were there to document CCR "back in the day." There is also an essay by Steve Hoffman, who along with Kevin Gray, remastered these gems at AcousTech Mastering. We've also included a bonus record that includes rare mixes of "Bad Moon Rising" and "Proud Mary," cut at 45 of course.
"...Now comes Absolute Originals, an eight-disc box limited to 2500 sets...the sonic results are so damn wonderful...everything is that much more immediate: dynamics are more explosive, textures more complex, there's tons of energy but everything is warm and sassy, and Fogerty's vocal is more present and lifelike. What more could a hardcore fan want?" Music = three stars; Sonics = four stars - Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, August/September 2005, Issue 155
"If you are even a little fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival then investigate this box set or the individual titles at $20 per. Someone twisted my arm 'ahem,' and after a nano second review I had the plastic swiper in hand to order. This is a very special gift for CCR fans from Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Gray, Analogue Productions, and of course Fantasy for the master tapes. I have not played them all as of yet but what I did play was absolutely stunning. If you do not wish to buy the box set then take your pick from Cosmo's Factory, Green River, you just have to hear 'Suzie Q,' Willie and the Poorboys, and forget it - just buy the box set. It is that good. All CCR fans should extend a very big bow to Mr. Hoffman and to Mr. Gray for such a magnificent collection mastered at 45 RPM. I extended my bow when I heard my first pick which was Cosmo's Factory. 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' at 45 RPM - what a delight." - David LeClaire, Acoustic Sounds customer
And how about this endorsement of our hard-working graphic design staff:
"I own a few test pressings from Chad’s original run of individual LP reissues, and I can vouch for their superb sound and clean surfaces - but what impressed me most was the high quality of the booklet that comes with the boxed version. Whoever was the art director of that project deserves a raise, and Chad deserves thanks for creating a package that exceeds our expectations rather than just tossing off some junky scan." - Art Dudley, Stereophile, August 2004
"Acoustic Sounds has issued a box set, as well as individual platters, of the best of the Creedence Clearwater Revival songs cut at 45 RPM. These will knock you on your rear end, especially if your system can reproduce unlimited bass." - Dennis Davis, Hi-Fi+, Issue 36, page 113
"The quality is outstanding both in terms of sound, pressing quality and packaging and not to be missed under any circumstances. For those who have yet to hear them, Kassem has issued both in single issues and also in a box set, many of the greatest hits by Creedence Clearwater Revival on 45RPM...you just wouldn't believe what's in the grooves of these black gold records. Leave it to the collaborative efforts of Kassem/Gray/Hoffman/RTI to offer up something very special. A tip of the vinyl-loving hat gentleman." - Richard Foster, Hi-Fi+, Issue 36, page 114
