Pure Heroine is the debut album from New Zealander Ella Yelich-O'Connor, who is better known as Lorde. She was spotted at the young age of 12 singing at a talent show in her hometown near Auckland and subsequently signed to Universal. She shot to prominence in early 2013 with a hugely popular EP, The Love Club, which produced single "Royals." The record was written with producer Joel Little and showcased her indie-tinged electro-pop sound. The 17-year-old is also featured on the soundtrack to the Hunger Games' movie sequel "Catching Fire."

Lorde has also just signed a $2.5 million music publishing deal. "September has been a profoundly great month for new female vocalists in popular music, but Lorde is easily the most vocally striking and lyrically thought-provoking. Pure Heroine is honest and addictive," says Billboard.

Ultra good recording posted on 12/02/2016 5 Stars Like the first reviewer said Lorde is good but the recording engineer is a the true STAR here. The bass in this album is phenomenal, heck the entire album is. Buy it it's well worth it

Phenomenal vinyl sound posted on 11/01/2014 5 Stars Reviewer: Brian VanPelt I love the sound of this record. All those words that describe the ideal vinyl sound: lush, wide, deep, detailed but velvety, etc., are all true of this record. The production is absolutely first rate. First, Lorde's voice is perfectly centered and placed high, as if she's literally on a pedestal. She has a mixture of girlishness and sultriness - maybe too much for a girl her age. Anyway, her voice perfectly compliments the music that flows beneath (and outward) from her voice. The instrumentation is all electronic, as far as I can tell. But everything is so well-executed. For example, the bass is thumpy where it should be, but many times it's very deep and wide (I mean real bass). The sound stage spread farther than my speakers, and some of the effects where quite successful. I know that Lorde is getting all the attention here, and she deserves to become a star. But for me, the real star here is the producer - a guy by the name of Joel Little - Wiki him to find out more.
