Pino Palladino and Blake Mills - Notes With Attachments

 

Blake Mills, singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and head of New Deal Records returns with another collaborative album released with famed bassist Pino Palladino (D'Angelo, the Who, John Mayer).

This is Palladino's first record of original music. It showcases various styles of playing with an emphasis on ambitious composition and you can trace homages to J Dilla, Fela Kut, and Roy Hargrove throughout. Other musicians include Chris Dave, Larry Goldrings, Andrew Bird, Ted Poor and more. This is being released as part of Blake's imprint, New Deal Records, under Verve and is part of the impulse 60! 2021 campaign.
