For its 125th birthday, Deutsche Grammophon is releasing legendary recordings with highest sound standards: The new audiophile vinyl series The Original Source presents outstanding recordings from the 1970s in a whole new sound quality. For this, the renowned Emil Berliner Studios have remastered and edited the original 4-track tapes in 100% analog quality (AAA) using technologies developed specifically to produce the series. Released on 180-gram vinyl records with deluxe gatefold jackets, the series is limited and numbered.
It took Claudio Abbado and the Boston Symphony Orchestra two sessions in February 1970, and then the recording team's recording was at the ready. Their interpretation of Debussy's Trois nocturnes, Ravel's suite Daphnis et Chloé, and his Pavane pour une infante défunte soon became classics.
