Impressed ! Hadn't heard this since the 80s

Posted Wednesday, December 24, 2025 by Greg Had Zep 2, 4, a scratchy copy of Zep 3 from the 80s, and had picked up those new LPs recently since I've bought new stereo equipment.. had an old cassette recording of Presence I'd made borrowing a buddies LP way back, but forgot that Presence, even not the one high on the list, is a darn good record. And this Jimmy Page remaster is really well done. Good pressing, very quiet between tracks, nice separation, and all these recent ones I've got were made in Germany. For $30? I'm darn pleased.

Posted Sunday, January 5, 2025 by Larry H. I've been a fan of Gary Moore since the Thin Lizzy days and had the CD version of "Still Got the Blues" since 1990. I just got the vinyl version as a Christmas present and now I know what I was missing! This release is excellent! First, the album is silent with no hiss or pop and lays perfectly flat on my turntable. Every track has clear separation with distinct layering of vocals, guitar, horns, keyboard and drums. The title track sounds "3D" and Gary Moore's vocals, and stellar guitar work are almost overwhelming! Sadly, he has been gone for many years, but his music still lives LARGE! Man, I love this record!! Thank you, Acoustic Sounds, for always offering the best in vinyl and making sure we get it safely!!

Posted Saturday, August 17, 2024 by Mellotronix Chris Squire's bass, which often lacks deep low end on original recordings, is finally nearly perfect--saturated, overdriven, punchy, present, and it ignites the subs with modern sounding low end. Harmony vocals and keys swirl around the Atmos soundfield in 3D with Jon Anderson's lead vocal perfectly balanced in the center channel. The clarity of the hats and cymbals is eye popping. Steve Howe's guitars are often in motion up, down, and sideways, but not in a gimmicky, distracting way. Listen for little details like handclaps and guitar fills moving in different directions above your head. Also, pay attention to the end of Perpetual Change where, basically, two completely different songs come together and weave in and out of each other, Amazing mix! I in fact bought a copy at a local store and it had a little more noise. I took it back for refund. I no longer have the original lp to compare to. Reviewed on Rega Planner 3 with upgraded power supply through Moon phono preamp to NAD receiver out to Dynaudio Excite X44 speakers.

Posted Sunday, November 19, 2023 by Anonymous I thought this was a great album even though some of the Clapton faithful seemed to be disappointed in it when originally released. Granted, not in step with his usual style but a top shelf collection of songs in my humble opinion. I got into this release after hearing "It's in the Way that You Use It" from the movie, "The Color of Money". After I brought it home, way back in the mid-80's, there were many tracks as good or better. "Run" and the duo with Tina Turner, "Tearing Us Apart" are awesome! My original copy was worn out, so I bought this one as a replacement. As usual, Acoustic Sounds did not disappoint, and the quality was impeccable. Flat, quiet and rich soundstage! I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased here, and "August" was no exception.

Posted Tuesday, October 3, 2023 by William I decided to take the leap, despite owning most of ELP's studio albums, because I've liked most most of the albums I've purchased with half- speed mastering (early Who, Roxy Music/Avalon, some Stones, etc.). In short, ELP never sounded better. Thumbs up on the mastering job. It's got punch, clarity, and separation. The Barbarian blew me away.

This album always have more high frequencies as Selling England by the pound (witch I prefer for sound recording). My copy is very quiet and I am very happy with this purchase. I had ordered other 180g pressing here but some crack and pop are audible, this pressing quality is excellent, nothing to say, go and buy it.
