Wow! Great Album! Now on Vinyl!

Posted Sunday, February 27, 2022 by John I bought this originally when it was released on CD and it was a moving collection of music that defined my age and attitude of the time. I was probably not part of the intended demographic but I still connected to the music. Just listening to it on vinyl brings another level of enjoyment that CD doesn't seem to touch. Great album!

Posted Friday, December 3, 2021 by Joey1127 If you like film music, this is one you want to pick up while you can. Having been a fan of the Original Soundtrack recording from the early 1980's, this collection from the NEW Netflix series "Dark Crystal - Age or Resistance" is the icing on the cake! Fantastic ambient music on a superb 2 LP pressing. Get it, you'll be glad you did!

M. Ward Shines

5 Stars
Posted Saturday, April 30, 2016 by audiofan Classic Ward here - despite the contributions of several other artists of note - the sonic signature so typical of past Ward albums remains largely intact, but this release seems a bit cleaner, with the mix and production being quite well-balanced and natural - revealing (on decent systems, of course - everythings relative, after all) a pleasing, organic sound that radiates analog vinyl. There are a few mellow numbers as well as a several up-tempo tracks with the rest falling somewhere in between. My copy was pressed on red vinyl and shows no trace of groove noise or, for that matter, any defect at all. A very well-pressed and great-sounding LP...and perhaps my new favorite M.W. album.

DH on LP

5 Stars
Posted Monday, December 7, 2015 by audiofan If you are into ambient dream-rock (sorry - it's the best I can describe this unique-sounding band) you'll find it beautifully presented on this LP. There is no indication where this title was pressed, and it appears to be standard 120-gram vinyl, but it was defect-free with dead-silent backgrounds and no surface noise. However, it may be closer to an EP than a LP - the six tracks barely total 31 minutes, but what's there sounds lush and involving.

not the high energy music of the originals

2 Stars
Posted Tuesday, September 3, 2013 by old and lonely Sonics and recording--couldn't be better.

Modern soul music--not for me unfortunately

If you are expecting high-energy music as found on the original albums, which I love, this one is not for you.

Rocking album, but...

3 Stars
Posted Friday, May 3, 2013 by Greg D. What a burning live album! Rainbow at their peak. I saw them twice a year later in NY and they played pretty much the same show. Brought me back. Ritchie Blackmore is amazing and Dio is one of the best hard rock singers we ever had. The downside? Not a high fidelity recording, by far. But full of the energy that was there that night. Vinyl is pretty noisy. Of course you don't notice when they're tearing it up, but you do in those classic Blackmore's subtle guitar moments. Which is very annoying.

Great Playing and Great Sound

Posted Sunday, January 13, 2013 by Anonymous This is a trip from the past. The only thing is it would be nice if there wasn't so much fake applause during the tracks. Still a pleasure to hear such a clean copy after all these years.

Interesting Music, Atrocious Recording

2 Stars
Posted Sunday, December 30, 2012 by Konstantin I was really looking forward to receiving and playing this LP given the Live Daily's description posted on Acoustic Sounds. Within 10 seconds of the needle hitting the first track, I realized it was a technical "lemon". I played the next track and then the next ... to no avail. My analog gear is somewhat heartless when it comes to "so-so" recordings Very sad. I don't have another analog front end to A/B the LP, so if anyone out there has had a better experience please relay.

Classic Recording

Posted Monday, February 15, 2010 by Herm For so many years this recording has been acclaimed as one of the best in the world of Opera. This reissue confirmed that. Maria Callas voice and Pretre orchestration never sound and defined as presented here.

A Nice Suprise

4 Stars
Posted Monday, September 28, 2009 by Anonymous When opening the LP i was surprised to find out that the vinyl is orange and there two small posters with beautiful pictures of the moon, it's not mentioned anywhere on the lp or in the sundazed site so it was a lovely surprise.

Sagittarius second album is not as good as their stunning debut (one of the greatest 60's album) but still have enough moments of beauty to make it worthwhile buying especially for lovers of sunshine/Baroque Pop.

The quality of the pressing is ok, noisy here and there but nothing too bad, sundsazed pressings tend to be like that, they are ok but never exceptional.

All in all, Recommended.

Superb MONO sound

5 Stars
Posted Friday, July 3, 2009 by Vincent Cortese This LP is fantastic in all ways. First, the MONO sound brings a new life to this record. All the stereo, hard panned 2 track stereo mixes are a complete distraction with guitar in one channel and vocals in the other. None of that here, quite obviously. Great sound, centered and focused all on perfectly quiet vinyl. They have also perfectly reproduced the Columbia deep red six-eye label, the only Dylan album release that ever had it. A wonderful record.

Skip It

Posted Monday, August 29, 2005 by Bret Miller Even if you are a Hendrix completist (as I am) and love the vinyl- this is only worth hearing to glimpse how much of a drag- Hendrix had to put up with a talentless drag- Noel was on his creativity by pressing for writing time. The ego of Noel must have clashed with Hendrix spotlight. I love his work as Hendrix sideman, but this is really a waste of money. You will listen once and put it away.
