Without question this is the best available and perhaps the best ever version of this classic LP. I had the UK original in the late 60's and more recently Japan CD Mono and Stereo SHM-CD versions. The Stereo CD mix is a superb rendition but the remastered LP is just breathtaking and quite superior. The bottom end is tight but with lots of volume and there is no diminution of the crisp top end allowing instruments like tambourine and cymbals to be clear in the playback. The vocals are in the room. Very highly recommended.

I never thought I'd see this on Vinyl again. Recorded at Red Rocks, Colorado and St. Goarshausen, Germany during the 1983 "War" tour, "Under a Blood Red Sky" shows just how great the young U2 actually were. I just hope that as part of their U2 reissues Island re-release the even better "Wide Awake in America" E.P. My original copy is showing it's age.

U2's Boy is one of those very special records from my teenage years. The sound of this new edition beats the pants off of my stock copy of my youth. The super quiet vinyl makes for a great listen. The 16 page booklet features pictures from the period and a nice little essay by English journalist Paul Morley.
