An essential mid career album

Perhaps in its time it was out of tune with the market place but it 2025 it charms can really be savored. You'll appreciate the casual musical command on display - nine wonderful tracks that shows off Mr. Charles' skills as a producer, band leader and performer - a charming record with real musical depth that warrants repeated listens. This remaster brings out the layers in every track and has great fidelity. While not audiophile-quality, I am very pleased with the sound presentation and content with the no frills packaging - this is value priced. Overall these Tangerine label reissues are worth copping, particularly for Ray Charles fan as they cover a vital part of his career as an independent artist in charge of his music. Tip - for maximum enjoyment of CLWM, begin with side B!

Musically stellar and presented in pristine and vivid audio detail. Aretha's in the room and sounds as close to "reel". Great sound staging, separation of instruments and vocal placements. Quiet, flat vinyl and beautiful new photos on the inside jacket. Truly definitive.

This will be one of those "sit down a listen to this" records that I will put on for my friends when they want to hear how good vinyl can be. I've never been let down by Analogue Productions yet, but this release is just so magical for me. I've heard these songs many times before, in many formats, but I've never heard it all sound so good. Amazing!!!

The mastering, pressing and packaging is second to none like every release so far in the Atlantic 75 series. I’m stunned at how clear and detailed it sounds. Obviously recordings from 1957 and below are not going to sound modern, but honestly they sound very close. I feel like I am there in the studio witnessing this recording as it turns.

So many incredible nuances and details I've never even heard, even after hearing all of these tracks countless times throughout my life. This is most likely the finest Thriller pressing ever to be pressed, highly HIGHLY recommended.

So glad I did. My system is under 5k, but my modified Klipsch Chorus speakers are very revealing of bad and mediocre pressings. What I hear from this one is fabulous. Very impressed with Speakers Corner pressings.

I though the dynamic range was pretty strong, but the soundstage seemed a little shrunken, in that I didn't feel that the music extended all the way from speaker-to-speaker.

The vinyl was fairly quiet. In fact, I don't remember any loud noises (crackles or pops) anywhere on the record. But there are some light clicks and such throughout the album, not bothersome. Overall, a clean record.

The recording seems pretty good, but there's nothing unusually great about it. The album is well-produced, and any singing seems to come from the middle of the back wall.

Very Clean and Smooth

There are essentially no surface noises to speak of - aside from the occasional light click here and there. There is nothing especially expensive about this record, but the vinyl sounds as good as any I've heard.

If that's not enough, the music is almost perfectly presented. For example, during the Ain't No Sunshine song, it starts off with Withers' voice centered/high, with only a guitar for a little bit, but then the rest of the band floods the room, and the transition feels like a warm flood. That describes much of the album. The soundstage is wide and 3D - the instruments are in the left/right forground, while Withers' voice is centered further back. Some other instruments fill the space from left-to-right.

This has got to be one of those albums you can use to relax after a hard day. The sound is topnotch, the record mostly clean and quiet, and it's not priced like an audiophile special.

Whatever the particles are, they were abrasive and clinging to the records. Professional cleaning could not help all of the audible pops and clicks.
