Really gets to the heart of the recording

After the deck had a Lingo 4 power supply installed we put this album on fresh out the box. The sound especially the bass was definitive, ultra low and ultra real, to be honest it sounded that good I found it hard to believe this was out in 1971. This album sounds better the the CSN 75 but it was always a great sounding record / sacd but Chad has once again hit this out of the park and produced the definitive version for 1/2 the price of the MFSL one step !, these 75s are absolute bargains!. Recommended

The clarity, soundstage and depth makes the music sound as if it were recorded yesterday. I never thought this album would ever sound this good. Another one hit right out of the park.

Posted Sunday, February 11, 2024 by Blue When I was younger, I used to think that in the future, technological advancements would enable all of the subpar recordings of some of my cherished lps to be cleaned up and turned into sonic marvels. This must become a can of worms when faced with trying to render an audiophile version of a recording with multiple problems. I've always felt frustrated with this recording, from the overall murky sound to decisions made in the mixing. I obtained the Mofi version of this lp hoping for a miracle and I must say, after listening to it, I felt disappointed. Chad's been on such a roll with this Atlantic 75 series, I decided for one more try. Upon listening I felt, yes, this is it - as good as it gets.

Keep em coming Chad and keep up the good work! If your a Daris Rucker fan and Hootie its a must have. I haven't heard this album sound so excellent!

It’s amazing and proof that the Atlantic 75 series is only second to the UHQR series in my opinion. AP and QRP are truly the best at anything they do.

There is simply no question. This is the best mastering of this recording there has ever been. We can start with the fact that the recording has more bottom than any other mastering in history, and go on from there.

Another phenomenal release from Chad.

The jacket is incredible looking and RTI did one heck of a job pressing this. The sound just takes the music to another level with the lower end providing bass that just kills it here. A perfect soundstage gives so much more detail to the instrumentation. Kevin Gray is clearly on top of his game with the job he did with this one. If a fan of this and you like records done proper at 45RPM, this version is beyond highly recommended! Sure hope to see "Benefit" get this treatment and would also like "Songs From The Wood". Chad delivers once again!

Very Good Live Album both Performance and Sound

Posted Wednesday, September 7, 2022 by Jim I took a chance and bought this album without any information about it and was pleasantly surprised. It was recorded in Germany in 1999. I've seen some slightly more recent America concerts on PBS and AXS TV and this one is similar in content and performance. It's tricky to record live concerts but they did a very good job on this one. The sound is clean and not compressed to my ears. Acoustic guitars sound pretty and not ever harsh. The vocals are clear and dynamic. The performance is very good. The vocals are clear, and their intonation is quite good which is never a given live. Harmonies are nice and so is the ensemble play. The one critique I have is with tempo. As I've heard on the PBS performances America will change their tempos frequently. They'll start out a song roaringly fast and slow it down when the vocals start. That's not uncommon for bands but it happens a lot on this album. But the musicians stay with it so it's not really a distraction. Overall GREAT!

here instead. The reissue is very well recorded, with a

good overall output, and a VERY good bass and lower

end. The mid’s and the upper end is beautifully

balanced.

I highly recommend this version!

Posted Friday, June 10, 2022 by Dan D I bought this the day it came out on CD in 2003, and I have loved it since. Great soundstage, bass, and sparkle. I really notice the keyboards more than ever. I bought the new vinyl cut of "Two Against Nature" at the same time, and I have to say, I prefer this sound more. "TAN" is also great, it's just different. My guess is it's the difference between Bernie Grundman and Scott Hull.
