Wonderful Performances; Faults in Recording

Posted Sunday, May 30, 2010 by Henry These performances rank right up there with the legendary Henryk Szeryng recordings. I sent 1 set back due to mistracking in a few places and surface noise that even my Nitty Gritty cleaning machine could not remove. My replacement set had the mistrack in the very same location. I am able to remove it with multiple washings, but a huge "snap" remains. I am keeping this set as the recording of the sublime Partita in D minor is flawless (my 1st set had noise and mistrackings). The great Chaconne in D minor alone is worth the price of these recordings!
