Nice to have on SACD

4 Stars
Posted Tuesday, April 11, 2023 by joey1127 Cut a tad on the HOT side, but still nice to have on SACD. I purchased this recording a while back on vinyl when 4MWB re-issued it. This SACD is actually on par with that release. Not the very best in fidelity, but neither was the original so...I'm happy to have it. If you want a copy, it's worth picking up!

Bright Clear Balanced Sound

5 Stars
Posted Thursday, August 27, 2020 by EdwardInEdgewood You can hear the birth of country rock music as this album progresses from song to song. And I have never heard "The Gilded Palace of Sin" sound better that this SACD release. Every voice and instrument is bright, clear and balanced. Hopefully other Gram Parsons' albums will get the same treatment.

Let's be honest here

4 Stars
Posted Thursday, February 6, 2020 by Dave in Indiana Whoever supplied the above copy needs a short history lesson. Gram Parsons did not lead the Flying Burrito Brothers. Chris Hillman did. The drug-addled Parsons was too irresponsible to take care of himself, much less a working band.

This album may not be the classic that 'Gilded Palace of Sin' was, but it does have some great songs. The recording quality is far superior to 'Gilded Palace,' which had some awkward phasing issues.
