Great soundtrack, great pressing

5 Stars
Posted Saturday, May 6, 2023 by Kenosha Lost in Translation is a wonderful sleepy/dreamy movie with a terrific soundtrack. For years, the soundtrack was extremely hard to find on vinyl. The RSD dark pink variant sold out quickly and copies were selling on eBay for $300. I waited.

Now it’s been repressed on standard black vinyl for a regular price. I have this pressing and, while not audiophile / QRP quality, it does sound very good with no pressing flaws. The record is flat with no pops and virtually no surface noise. For a standard price record, I’m pleased. I also have the CD and the vinyl sounds better, more open, warmer, less compressed.

Sample the soundtrack on streaming to make sure you’ll enjoy the music - or better yet, watch the film. The music really complements the film beautifully.

Posted Friday, December 3, 2021 by Joey1127 If you like film music, this is one you want to pick up while you can. Having been a fan of the Original Soundtrack recording from the early 1980's, this collection from the NEW Netflix series "Dark Crystal - Age or Resistance" is the icing on the cake! Fantastic ambient music on a superb 2 LP pressing. Get it, you'll be glad you did!

Fantastic!

Posted Friday, December 3, 2021 by Joey1127 I had an original RCA Victor pressing of this that was...well, it still played, but needed to be replaced. Like most pressings from Speakers Corner, this pressing is outstanding! It's super quiet and sounds superb. Compares favorably to the 45RPM release. Highly recommended!!!

Posted Friday, September 17, 2021 by Audio Alien Don't be fooled by just another boring sound track album. This is a great jazz trio recording! The music and sonics are spectacular and Kevin Gray mastered it.

A preserved classic!

Posted Thursday, January 8, 2015 by Rudy / Record Collector Guide I grew up with this album in the house, in all its scratched up mono glory, so it was nice to see Sony finally reissue this title properly. All I've had is the late 80s reissue on CD (its first) which is rather bright and lifeless. Cut by Kevin Gray and pressed on pink vinyl, this album comes across well with a full-bodied response, and the typical stereo spread of the mid 60s. On this, I am hearing more detail than I've heard on any digital version thus far. The vinyl surface is relatively free of minor ticks and clicks but, like all colored or clear vinyl I own, there is a higher background noise floor, like a faint constant "swishing" noise. Not distracting though. I am tempted to get a spare copy on black vinyl just to have it. I don't know how the more recent remastering by Analogue Productions might improve on this one; I'll wait to see and do a comparison. On these Dynagroove titles, it boils down to which source tapes are used.

Juno Rules

4 Stars
Posted Monday, December 15, 2008 by StylinLP Hey, this may be a digital from a Digital to a Digital to Vinyl but it's great. I really enjoy these songs. Acoustically they are not 1st pressing of Coltrane, but they do sound clear. Whats enjoyable is to experience and explore songs not well known. I guess Juno is trying to show us new music! For the money it was well worth it. Played it a dozen times in the few months Ive had it so well worth my money.
