Posted Monday, December 4, 2023 by Anonymous Great record. Flat and dead quiet. Fantastic realism and dynamics. Drums sound like they are in the room. My first Craft small batch. Very impressed. As good as any of my best Analogue Productions or MOFI pressings.

Pristine CCR!

Posted Sunday, March 12, 2023 by Larry H. Bravo Concord/Craft Recordings! I just finished listening to this pressing of Bayou Country and couldn't be happier!! The 180g vinyl is perfectly flat and plays with dead silence. When the first guitar note of "Born on the Bayou" was played, I had chills and was transported back to being 9-10 years old listening to the original release! The sound stage is excellent on all tracks! The reproduction of the jacket and the original Fantasy Label was dead on! This pressing is superb in every way. Glad to have it in the collection!!

Surprisingly great buy it!!!

Posted Tuesday, October 11, 2022 by Chris I'm used to really bad pressings of Sun Ra albums. I've also had some problems in the past with inconsistent Craft reissues but they nailed it with this one. Kevin Gray and RTI did an outstanding job! If you want to get into Sun Ra this is a great start!

Great pressing

5 Stars
Posted Tuesday, September 6, 2022 by Anonymous Don’t have any versions to compare to, but this pressing sounds great. Dead flat vinyl. Not a single click or pop. Great value for $25 bucks AAA. Craft reissues are knocking it out of the park recently. Wish we had more reissues of this level of quality and price

Bill Evans - You Must Believe In Spring Product No: ACONC 455

4 Great Sides of Bill Evans - $40= No Brainer

5 Stars
Posted Wednesday, June 8, 2022 by Anonymous Yes....Just sat down and listened to all 4 sides of this gem today. Like many, I have been digging the original WB pressing mastered by Doug Sax for many years, it's a classic for both sound and music. Flat and quiet pressing and this new 45 rpm version is clearer and both the bass and piano both sound more natural to my ears on my system. At $40 this is a Solid-Gold-Blue-Chip release, kids. Don't even THINK about complaining that Side 4 has only 1 song...It's the Theme from M*A*S*H* (aka Suicide Is Painless) and it's 5 min and change of the most beautiful sound you'll ever hear...Yeah...buy this now...

Johnnie Taylor - Who's Making Love Product No: ACONC 196

Surprised Me with both Music and Sonics!

5 Stars
Posted Thursday, May 19, 2022 by Greg C I picked this up for two reasons. 1) It's hard to find Stax records that I don't like and 2) all analog mastering gets me every time. This was surprisingly good - I mean really good - excellent soul tunes backed by Booker T, the Colonel Cropper, Duck Dunn, Al Jackson Jr., and a guest appearance by Issac Hayes. A perfect record for a Friday night with a beer. So onto the sonics... I'm not all that familiar with Jeff Powell at Take Out Vinyl mastering, but i am now! Clear and true... good separation, well mastered.. and good pressing from Memphis record pressing. Nice job craft - please give us more Stax reissues with this level of quality!

Absolutely stunning

5 Stars
Posted Saturday, February 19, 2022 by Don This is the best repress of an album I have heard. Absolutely stunning.I have an early original pressing of the album in very good condition but with a few clicks so I thought I would compare the two.I actually think this 1/2 speed master is better. The music comes through unaltered (just like the original) which is always my preference in a remaster but it has better timbre and resonance, great detail and is crystal clear. Miles Showell at Abbey Road and Craft have done a great job with this recording. I wish they would do the entire collection of Beatles, Stones, Who, Elton John, Queen, Pink Floyd....and more. I'm all in on this. Thanks also to acoustic sounds for bringing it to us.

Vince Guaraldi Trio - A Charlie Brown Christmas Product No: ACONC 0061

excellent pressing and mastering

5 Stars
Posted Friday, December 17, 2021 by Joe I have a green vinyl pressing of this LP, and I think the mastering is much better on this one. More natural sounding and more balanced. Dead quiet vinyl, too. Plus, it's housed in a replica of the original cover, with tip on artwork and nice, heavy cardboard.

R.E.M. - New Adventures In Hi-Fi Product No: ACONC 438

Some good, some bad

Posted Friday, December 3, 2021 by Anonymous I find the remastering on this very uneven. Some tracks have great weight, depth, and soundstage. Others seemed veiled, rolled off and thin. Disappointed

Wow is the word!

5 Stars
Posted Sunday, September 19, 2021 by Robert Hildebrandt The half speed remaster is the best sounding version of this early masterpiece. The pressing was whisper quiet and the reproduction very full but detailed. The treble top was crisp and not excessive but the bass was tight and realistic. This version sounds better than any of the CD versions including my amazing Japan CD SHM issue.

Unique and warm and soft. Relaxing

4 Stars
Posted Saturday, April 10, 2021 by Anonymous Relaxing music. Interesting unique voice. I appreciate Craft for offering this selection. The cover is solid + anti static inner sleeve and is a step up from the flimsy Blue Note Classic Series covers that come with a paper inner. My pressing is mostly flat and with minimal defects and quiet. Looks quality. Happy bout this. The sound on my system when compared to others comes across on the warmer side, smooth, and soft, lacking a measure of bite and snap, sparkle. The trumpet sound imaging and projection is pretty good. Chet’s voice is a bit soft on the edges and has a measure of being muffled at times but does form a center position well. I have a number vocal-driven recordings from the ‘50s and early ‘60s original LP and those are remarkably clear, realistic. The sound on this has some air but IMO is a little 2 dimensional. I don’t know if all these are because of the master tape, the mastering or both as I don’t have another copy for comparison. Overall, enjoyable
