This album at the very least, is the finest album I have ever received in the last 15 years. I look forward to getting more LP's from Acoustic in the near future. As for Daft Punk, I will continue to crave more albums.

Nice recording and pretty quiet vinyl

I though the dynamic range was pretty strong, but the soundstage seemed a little shrunken, in that I didn't feel that the music extended all the way from speaker-to-speaker.

The vinyl was fairly quiet. In fact, I don't remember any loud noises (crackles or pops) anywhere on the record. But there are some light clicks and such throughout the album, not bothersome. Overall, a clean record.

The recording seems pretty good, but there's nothing unusually great about it. The album is well-produced, and any singing seems to come from the middle of the back wall.

Posted Tuesday, July 21, 2015 by audiofan It's amusing to see this listed as an "alternative" music selection; this is mid-60s soul all the way, like Sam & Otis used to make. The vinyl is quite well-done - there were no noise problems or defects with my copy. The mix is (purposefully) reminiscent of the era mined by the music - it has one foot in the past (and I mean that in a positive way) but manages to sound both dynamic and 'analog' at the same time. A great new artist and a very decent pressing!

Posted Monday, April 2, 2012 by Mark Fig This is a GREAT album - can't stop playing it. Bruce just never quits. Eclectic sounds and soulful bluesy/gospel influences blend with arena-worthy anthems. The Big Man's final sax solo. This is Bruce Springsteen as we know and love him, all the way. I never expected to love this so much.

This vinyl pressing sounds exquisite. Dead silent, warm and vibrant. Amazing depth for what I presume must be a digital recording. Just great all around. Great songs, great sound, and Bruce is near the top of his game.

They threw a CD in with the vinyl too, which doesn't sound nearly as good as the vinyl, but is nice, in case you want to load up the ipod in a hurry and blast "Death to My Hometown" while driving.

Posted Wednesday, March 11, 2009 by Sean Let me say this, this is a nice set. Great quality, heavy vinyl and just a nice feel. Tight, low minute recordings that avoid the innermost area of the record... recording and vinyl wise, it's really, really good.

Music wise, is, well, one of those. I really like the album. It's got several really good tracks you'll want to hear again and again. The Wrestler bonus track is great. But it's the BOSS and he has something to live up to. Is it as good as some of his (many) legendary albums? No, probably not. And that's the rub people, most BOSS fans will say, eh, because they have high expectations.

If this LP were from an unknown, the Obama chant alone would cause it to sell like crazy. But since people have such high expectations, I don't think it's getting the praise it does deserve. And again, did I mention it's a killer quality LP set at less than $20?

If you're in it for the music, it's worth picking up. If you are only looking to be blown away, maybe you should push on...

Great Songs Lousy Production

Posted Wednesday, October 10, 2007 by Sticksnhands After listening to the Boss for over 30 years I was very dissapointed in the production of this latest album. I actually got up to check if a "High Cut" switch was on by mistake. The over all sound is muddy and muffled on the 180 gram vinyl pressing. After speaking with our local independant record store owner; thinking that it was just a crappy pressing from Columbia Records, I find out that this "producer" is responsible for this audio dud. What a shame, the songs are wonderful but everything is buried under a layer of cotton. I've listened to other songs from the album on Sirius Radio and they sound the same. What a drag. I recently got the Hammersmith Live CD and what a difference, clean, clear and bright. So buyer beware. Peace.
