Back and better than ever!
2008 Stereophile Record To Die For (R2D4)!
Creedence Clearwater Revival from Analogue Productions — now pressed at Quality Record Pressings and with tip-on jackets!
Strictly limited to 2,500 numbered sets
Mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman from the original analog tapes
"...these records come from the same mastering as the initial set, which first appeared in 2004. But there are two differences this time around: the LPs were pressed at Quality Record Pressings in Kansas, not at RTI in California, and the LPs are 200 grams instead of 180. While this raises the obvious question of which set is better, the more important one, given that owners of the highly praised first set are unlikely to buy the whole thing again, is how these carefully wrought and pressed reissues compare to original LPs and the various audiophile alternatives. ... The Analogue Productions LPs sound a little to vastly different and considerably better than any of the copies I had on hand. ... a boxed set such as this ... is destined to become a collector's item, à la the Mobile Fidelity Beatles and Rolling Stones sets, so singular is the music and opulent is the presentation." — Marc Mickelson, The Audio Beat, December 2014. "...The box isn't cheap, but it is a collection of classic albums - there's really not a dud in the bunch - and they have never sounded better...Finally, there's the presentation, which is first class. The full sized, full color booklet includes veteran rock writer Ben Fong-Torres's lucid liner notes, and a collection of fabulous publicity shots sumptuously presented. The last page includes Steve Hoffman's notes about the reissue production and information on the original recordings and mixes, along with tape box photos...CCR fans rejoice!" Music = 10/11 Sound = 9/11 — Michael Fremer, Musicangle.com.
"Well, I received three test pressings of these LPs last Friday from Chad and was wondering if I was hearing things. Simply put, these are by a large, large margin the best-sounding versions of these great songs that I have ever heard. The differences are staggering. On ‘Lookin' out My Back Door' the utter naturalness, weight and body simply doesn't exist elsewhere on any recording of this that I have owned. After 30 odd years of always thinking that these records could or should sound better, these test pressings prove it. Whatever decisions made in the mastering of these records works just fine and once again proves that there is more to the art of record mastering than the ability to run a mastering lathe. It's time to start saving up folks, cause these are the real deal. Congratulations to all involved." — Brian Hartsell, owner, The Analog Room in San Jose, CA

One of the most successful reissue catalogs in the history of Analogue Productions, the can't-miss CCR 33 1/3 LPs are back! Only now, they're pressed at Quality Record Pressings on 200-gram vinyl and are housed in deluxe tip-on jackets. Still mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman from the original analog tapes, still comprising the complete seven-record studio catalog and still available as individual titles and in a deluxe box set titled Absolute Originals. You get the self-titled debut album, Bayou Country, Green River, Willy And The Poorboys, Cosmo's Factory, Pendulum and Mardi Gras.
The box set version includes in-depth liner notes by rock critic extraordinaire Ben Fong-Torres of Rolling Stone fame, and photos by Barry Wolman and Didi Zill, both of whom were there to document CCR back in the day. There is also an essay by Steve Hoffman. Additionally, the box includes an eighth record of choice songs cut at 45 RPM. Included will be rare "wide stereo" mixes of "Bad Moon Rising" and "Proud Mary." The pressing is strictly limited to 2,500 numbered sets.
All of these reissues were critically acclaimed upon their release some 10 years back. And most have been sold out for a long, long time. Now they're back and better than ever!
