Specializing in a muscular and melodic blend of classic Brit-pop, post-punk, and new wave, the Kaiser Chiefs' blue-collar, pub-style take on indie rock managed to split the difference between timely and nostalgic. Comprising vocalist Ricky Wilson, guitarist Andrew White, bassist Simon Rix, keyboardist Nick Baines, and drummer Nick Hodgson, the Kaiser Chiefs' newest Education, Education, Education & War was written in London, Los Angeles and Nashville, recorded at The Maze Studio in Atlanta, Georgia and mixed at Electric Lady Studios by Michael Brauer (My Morning Jacket, Coldplay) with producer Ben H. Allen III (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective, Deerhunter). The record shows an evolution in maturity of songwriting and sound, and deftly executes a wide array of the band's influences.
