30th anniversary reissue featuring the classic hits "Gimme All Your Lovin'," "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs"

180-gram vinyl, cut from the original analogue master tape by Chris Bellman

Perhaps frowned upon by blues-rock purists, this record blends Billy Gibbons' smouldering guitar with '80's electronics to maximum effect. Superb songs and a lot of fun! From their inception in Houston, Texas in 1970, ZZ Top, "That Little Old Band From Texas" have gone on to become world famous, rock royalty with a well-deserved induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.

Released in March 1983, Eliminator was the band's eighth studio album and most commercially successful of their career so far, earning them a rare American ‘Diamond' certification for domestic sales of 10 million or more. Produced by the band's then manager Bill Ham the album features the hit singles "Gimme All Your Lovin," "Got Me Under Pressure," "Sharp Dressed Man," "TV Dinners" and "Legs."

Outstanding release

Eliminator was one of *the* great rock'n'roll records of the 1980s. I was a hesitant to purchase this because I wrongly assumed they'd phone it by going back to high res digital. This is not the case. The sound is every bit, and then some, lively as you'd expect from ZZ Top. The sound fills the room with exceptional warmth.

I have an original pressing that is almost mint. This rhino re-issue sounds better to my ear. It is more dynamic with a wider soundstage. You can rock this one LOUD! The bass drums on this pressing sound great and will have you tapping your foot. The mastering of this album is done well and everything seems very balanced. I am impressed with it. The highs on the original seemed a bit bright to me. On this pressing, The highs are crystal clear but not overly pronounced. Great bass slam on this pressing but, not bloated. Noise on the lead in groove is non existant. This is a very quiet pressing. Highly reccomended.
