180-gram vinyl pressing by Quality Record Pressings!

Now presented in an upgraded, deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket

Cut at Sterling Sound directly from the original master tape. This was a straight transfer, bypassing the console altogether. There was no EQ of any kind. A true direct transfer, using a VMS 80, the most sophisticated lathe. You're hearing the master tape!

"Cline's powerful, resonant voice and her unerring, more-generic-than-Southern diction and phrasing plus her ability to express hurt and vulnerability (without inducing too much self-pity) helped her cross over during her lifetime. Those qualities have also helped assure her continued popularity fifty years after her death. ... All of that will become apparent as you play this direct connection to the recording studio reissue from Analogue Productions. ... The original master tapes were transferred to lacquer at Sterling Sound by connecting the playback deck's output directly to the lathe, thereby bypassing altogether the mixing board. The sonics are sensational, particularly in terms of transparency ... Everything from the silent 180g pressing to the "tip-on" (paper on cardboard) gatefold jacket and the center portfolio of great full color Patsy shots screams HIGH QUALITY! This reissue, from the AAA production, to the pressing and packaging quality epitomizes the purpose of the current return to vinyl." - Music = 9/11; Sound = 9/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com. To read Fremer's full review, click here: http://www.analogplanet.com/content/patsy-clines-greatest-hits

What praises haven't been lauded the immortal singing talent of the late, great Patsy Cline? She died at the height of her career, at age 30, with two other stars of the Grand Ole Opry, and her manager, in a private plane crash near Camden, Tennessee, on the group's return to Nashville from Kansas City. Before that ill-fated flight, though, she left a musical legacy as one of the most influential and successful female vocalists of the 20th Century.

In the late 1950s and the '60s, country music was essentially a singles medium. This album, first released in 1967, collects a dozen of Patsy's biggest hits — all of them from the country singles market — including "Walkin' After Midnight," "Sweet Dreams (Of You)," "Crazy," and "I Fall to Pieces."

Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's "countrypolitan" sound. And trust us, on this 180-gram QRP pressing, mastered by Sterling Sound, Cline's seductive vocals have never sounded clearer or richer. And the packaging on this release is as deluxe as the audio. Analogue Productions has reissued this classic LP in a new deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket. Inside you'll enjoy a spread of vivid color studio publicity shots of Patsy, courtesy of the Universal Music Archives.

Cline's life and career has been the subject of numerous books, movies, documentaries, articles and stage plays. She has sold millions of albums through the past 50 years, giving her an iconic fan status, similar to that of country artists such as Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. In 1992, the U.S. Postal Service honored her, along with Hank Williams, on a U.S. postage stamp. And in 1995 she was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Cline was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999.

Before Shania Twain found a new (though not necessarily improved) way to combine country and pop in the 1990s, this was the top-selling country album of all time by a female artist.

Chad and team I just finished listening to Patsy Cline on your Masterpiece of a recording. I swear Patsy and her band was in my listening room singing their greatest hits. After it was over I was so very sad a tear ran down cheek because I realized that Patsy was gone. That beautiful CLEAR and powerful voice that was silenced so many years ago. But thanks to Chad and Team and their dream of making perfect Vinyl Records. They have succeeded and brought Patsy back to life! If only for few minutes it was wonderful to hear her voice again the way it was meant to be heard. If you love Patsy this is a must have recording. Five Stars and a tear from this reviewer.

This is by far the best I have ever heard Patsy Cline sound! Dead quiet pressing, superb sound. The stereo separation/soundstage and space around everything (vocals, instruments) is incredible. Please reissue more Patsy Cline, and at 45 rpm!

I just purchased the new Patsy Cline LP and I am blown away by the clarity of this pressing. The direct cut from the master and attention to detail is evident here. The gatefold was also another great surprise. The photos look good, and provide a nice added addition to this wonderful package. Lets hope Acoustic Sounds will reproduce another classic Patsy LP for us fans in the near future!

A must for Cline fans

Just played this new release by Analogue Productions, Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits and it's superb. With great old-fashioned stereophonic sound with just a touch of reverb, housed in a thick gatefold with pictues of Cline on the inside, it's a great testament to among the greatest of country singers, who died at age 30 in a plane crash. Her sweet voice comes over well here. Decca's recording is excellent with a large, naturally sounding soundstage with Cline in the center blending in beautifully.

Kudos to Chad Kassem for doing a turn around from his previously cheap covers and keeping the price at $30. This could not have been done better. The pressing is almost pristine, flat, centered. Chad has come along way after he was heavily criticized for his substandard covers and deserved it. I give credit where credit is due. He's gone back to the drawing board and emerged even stronger.

I'm sure originals could be had cheaper, though I looked on ebay, and there wasn't much available of this particular release. And certainly the MCA would not have had such quiet vinyl. I love these early Deccas and hope more are released.

All in all, highly recommended for Cline fans.

The other reviewers have done a great job describing the material which is fabulous. Like the other QRP efforts, this pressing is dead quiet, no surface noise and black backgrounds. The vinyl allows you to appreciate the incredible range Patsy had, and was such a bonus compared to CD or original pressings. The best part was hearing my partner sing along to every word ;). You can't go wrong with this!

I Fell to Pieces just listening to this!

I must say that the only other comparison I had to this album was the MCA CD release from 1988, so I may be biased. However, if the CD is all you had for the comparison, then this will blow you away. This vinyl version from Quality Records is exemplary with it's pristine quiet vinyl and a 3 dimensional soundstage that will pull you in on an extreme emotional level. Song for song it is the same album as the CD release, except for 'Walking After Midnight", which on the CD is much slower and clocks in at 35 seconds longer with it's pokey pacing. I much prefer the vinyl version with it's more up-tempo 50's beat. Worth every penny!!!

Crazy, just crazy.

What can you say about the late great incomparable Patsy Cline? She still lives today even though she passed 50 years ago. This is an amazing vinyl collection that any audiophile should and must have. The general quality of this pressing is superb! Everyone knows Patsy Cline's style as well as the lush fullness of her emotional voice, this pressing proves true. Clear crisp original session seems to be right next-door! The famous hiss on Crazy is practically diminished! The surprise modern gatefold is any collectors dream. Patsy Cline never really died, because her music proves to be alive and timeless.
