Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day on 180-gram triple LP!

The legendary 2007 concert live in London at the 02 Arena

16 tracks including "Whole Lotta Love," "Rock And Roll," "Kashmir" and "Stairway To Heaven"

Led Zeppelin fans know well December 10, 2007. On that date, for the first time in 27 years, the legendary British supergroup took the stage at London's 02 Arena to headline a tribute concert for their friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.

What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band's signature blues-infused rock 'n' roll that instantly became part of the legend of Led Zeppelin. Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalog including landmark tracks "Whole Lotta Love," "Rock And Roll," "Kashmir" and "Stairway To Heaven."

Captured here is the group's performance on stunningly mastered 180-gram vinyl — a triple LP set! Led Zeppelin is considered to be one of the most successful, innovative and influential rock groups in history, dominating the decade of '70s as the Beatles did a decade earlier.

Led Zeppelin is one of the best-selling music artists in the history of recorded audio — various sources estimate the group's sales at more than 300 million albums worldwide. Each of their nine studio albums reached the top 10 of the Billboard album chart in the U.S., with six reaching the No. 1 spot. In 1995 the band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

This is not a reflection on Acoustic Sounds. Acoustic Sounds is great. These records were not. They were warped. I sent them back. It cost me 22.00 to send them back. The replacement set is also warped. Again, this set wasn't pressed by Analogue Productions and Acoustic Sounds has a reasonable return policy when some retailers might not even accept a return. However, I may want to stick to buying CDs or SACDs in the future. It makes no sense for me to gamble on new vinyl, potentially getting stuck with warped records. So it cost me 72.00 for a 50.00 set.....and my records are warped. If I send them back it would cost me 94.00 for 50.00 in store credit. Not happy, but it's 100% the fault of the manufacturer.

out of balance?

The sound quality is overwhelmed by the overemphasis on the bass and drums which overwhelm everything else. It would be a great recording if they would have toned down the bass and drums.

After the brilliant job done with the vinyl release of "The Song Remains The Same" my expectations were very high for this release. Thankfully, I was once again delighted with this next live release. The vinyl pressing are perfect, spotless, quiet, flat and with a deep gloss of virgin vinyl. Everything about the packaging screams 1st rate. The sound quality is breathtaking. As good as the DVD release is, I did not expect the vinyl to be able to add anything sonically new. Wrong again! It is an aural spectacle, at times brutal and overwhelming as only live Led Zeppelin can be. This box set is a masterpiece. Jimmy Page and the team responsible for bringing this product to market have once again delivered on the promise of Vinyl LP's when done right!

A Disappointment

All of this is outside of Acoustic Sounds Control. This release missed the mark for an audiophile grade vinyl recording both in engineering and production. "Stairway to Heaven" is not supposed to be distorted in the beginning bars. The engineers left all of the tracks overdriven. Production: Disk 3 has a warp in it that causes the tonearm to move noticeably up and down; Disk 2's label is reversed between side 1 and side 2. All disks had static charged dust upon pulling out of the sleeve. Reminds me of Columbia House records from 33 years ago.
