"The Man Machine is closer to the sound and style that would define early new wave electro-pop - less minimalistic in its arrangements and more complex and danceable in its underlying rhythms. Like its predecessor, Trans-Europe Express, there is the feel of a divided concept album, with some songs devoted to science fiction-esque links between humans and technology, often with electronically processed vocals ('The Robots,' 'Spacelab,' and the title track); others take the glamour of urbanization as their subject ('Neon Lights' and 'Metropolis'). Plus, there's 'The Model,' a character sketch that falls under the latter category but takes a more cynical view of the title character's glamorous lifestlye." - All Music Guide

For nostalgia's sake, ordered this LP and wasn't expecting much considering it was not labeled audiophile quality but was pleasantly surprised. Quiet, crisp and clear sound with quite a depth - recording sounds like it was just recorded yesterday.

A beautifully done reissue!

I had never heard this album, only the remix of "The Robots" found on "The Mix". I love it. These comments apply to the whole series:

*Dead quiet 180gm pressings

*Stunning packaging - each issue includes a 12x12 full color, 14 page booklet with original or alternative cover art, promotional photographs of the band, and more

*Full color custom card stock inner sleeves.

I own German original pressings of Autobahn and Trans Europe Express, and Computer World, which have different mixes and German vocals, so the new issues wont replace these, as the new issues use the American and or British mixes. This series is a great bargain, with sound that beats the US Capitol pressings by a mile!

Sounds Great!
