Tube processed digital master
The touching tribute of a son (the pianist) to his father (the composer): an intense performance conducted by one of the most compelling conductors of today, Gianandrea Noseda. It's a live concert held on January 27, 2005 at the Auditorium Lingotto in Turin, the Piano Concerto by David Toradze, performed by his son Alexander (Lexo) Toradze is finally available for music lovers.
The work masterfully employs modern techniques, innovative intonations, and unique timbral discoveries within its orchestral palette.
A special rhythmic and emotional dynamic is created in the work's dramaturgy by the unusual combination of percussion groups and the pianist's virtuoso score.
The master for SACD was made by transferring the analog master recorded with the AMPEX ATR 102 (Electronic Tube Ampex Model 351 -1965) 2 tracks 1/2 inch 30 ips modified by David Manley to Pyramix using dCS A/D and D/A converters. The mastering for SACD was realized by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the entirely analog and valve Signoricci system.
