RCA Living Stereo classical LPs — the gold standard for top quality orchestral performance and sound!

Remastered from the original master tape and cut at 33 1/3 RPM by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound

Lacquers plated by Gary Salstrom and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings!

"These records are definitive." — Michael Fremer, editor, AnalogPlanet.com

Winner of a Gruvy Award, chosen by AnalogPlanet's editor, Michael Fremer, for vinyl records that are musically and sonically outstanding and are also well mastered and pressed. http://www.analogplanet.com/content/gruvy-awards

"These are the best vinyl releases of RCA LPs I've yet heard." — Jonathan Valin, executive editor, The Absolute Sound

This 1958 3-track recording has Heifetz teamed up with Munch and the Boston Symphony. Cutting the lacquer directly from the original session master tapes has increased the transparency and 3-dimensional imaging on this reissue over original pressings. The performance, as always with the last century's top violinist, is almost without compare. If you have an original copy (white or shaded) you'll be shocked — this reissue has diaphonously beautiful string tone, superior low end dynamics and very deep bass.

1. Concerto in E Minor, op. 64 (Mendelssohn)
2. Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, op. 63 (Prokofieff)

At last this great recording is given the mastering it always deserved. I've listened to it in various iterations for over fifty years, but never dreamed it could sound this good. Clean, transparent, uncongested, yet warm, rich and detailed in the most natural way possible. It would be hard to find a performance of the Prokofiev that surpasses this one, though many are competitive, but it's probably impossible to find a record as beautifully mastered as this one. I couldn't help but think that at long last I was finally being allowed to hear the sound RCA captured on its master tapes so long ago.
