Great cast, quite a bit of distortion posted on 10/05/2008 3 Stars Reviewer: Frederic It's a pity that this pressing is not of any better quality. I've checked this disc on 3 separate tables now and all revealed to some varying degrees pretty severe levels of distortion in the treble as one gets closer to the center of the disc. It may just be a problem with my copy. Otherwise, musically nothing to throw away; it is a great cast and although Bohm is a little heavy handed at times, he manages to not make Mozart sound too romantic, preserving some of the ephemeral balance Mozart achieved in this opera - not classical any more but not yet fully romantic.
