"The improvements of the new release over the original vinyl or the Lemon CD (that's a label, not a snide comment) are enormous — so good that it's like you've never heard this music before. The instrumental interplay is so alive, leaving you to wonder why this music didn't sell." Recording = 9/10; Music = 8.5/10 - Dennis D. Davis, Hi-Fi +, Issue 128
"Bob Ludwig (mastered) the original at Sterling Sound so it sounds very, very good. However, this reissue mastered by Kevin Gray from ½" analog tape sounds far better, in part because it isn't dynamically limited, which the original surely is. The sonics on this reissue are superb in every way. Even if you are a fan of this record and think you know it inside out, I think you'll hear things previously buried in the compression that are now allowed to float freely on the soundstage." — Music = 9/11; Sound = 9/11 — Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com. Intervention Records is a new premium vinyl reissue label headed by hi-fi industry veteran Shane Buettner. Buettner manages marketing and business development for Vandersteen Audio, and before that he was vice president of communication at AudioQuest.
Featuring 180-gram heavyweight vinyl plated and pressed at RTI, and faithfully restored artwork printed to Stoughton Printing old-style deluxe film-lamination jackets, reissues from Intervention Records feature titles new to the vinyl reissue market, especially those that never saw a vinyl release at all or only saw a limited vinyl edition. Best of all, these Stealers Wheel releases feature 100% analog mastering by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio! The sources for Stealers Wheel and Ferguslie Park two were safety copies made directly from the original analog master tapes.
Ferguslie Park is an even more mature effort from the accomplished duo of Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan. With catchy, guitar-driven hooks, gorgeous vocal harmonies and biting satirical lyrics, Ferguslie Park resonated with hits such as "Good Businessman" and "Star."
