Almost Perfect

Posted Thursday, February 25, 2016 by Michael Broer I originally gave this disc a five star rating due to its superiority over the CD. However, after listening to an early pressing of this great debut album, I must downgrade it. This new pressing just doesn't have the clarity that the early pressing does. Even with the treble on my amp turned to the extreme, it sounds as though the control is back at the mid level.

Posted Wednesday, May 31, 2006 by jack mckeever from the second the needle hits, you know you are not crazy, no, there is a reason why people purchase high quality vinyl, why people still record to tape in 2006, why high quality vinyl is still the finest reproduction medium available, and most exciting of all, why new vinyl can sometimes be more incredible than all others - this nat king cole recording "after midnight" is so great that it might capture you coming off an eight track catridge that had been soaked in rain water - it's a great record. period. that someone with ears put much love into this pressing, and wisely spread it over two discs makes it a great listening experience....i'm not through side 1 of the 4 sides and i know it's one of the finest sounding discs i own....sounds very analog...very beautiful......enjoy

be well

love real music
