As a long time Muldaur fan, I was a little surprised to find that Maria was outshined by her back up muscians. Not that she sounds bad but other muscians sound great! I find myself listening more to the instruments than the vocals. I don't know if this is one of the top 25 blues albums as Acoustic Sounds rated it, but it is pretty darned good. My only complaint is that the vinyl is on the noisy side for what should have been a high quality pressing.

I've been a fan of Maria's, going back to her days with the Even Dozen Jug Band. As one of the best recordings of the past decade, the CD version of this album was a real surprise, both musically and sonically, and should be up there with Dusty Springfield's "Look of Love."

If you're a fan of acoustic blues, especially traditional and old timey songs, then this LP is also a must have. A great transfer of classic material, impeccably performed.
