Speed Box MKII Precision turntable power supply is a microprocessor driven supply designed specifically for Pro-Ject Audiophile Turntables utilizing A/C synchronous motors. The exact frequency and amplitude of output voltage is ensured through the use of a quartz oscillator coupled with an extremely low distortion amplifier to supply the turntable with a pure signal that could never be provided by using the standard wall plug adapter. The net result of this power supply is a very smooth and quiet motor providing a significant gain in audio performance.

Supplied with a 15" captive power cord for connection to turntable.

Solves Pro-Ject motor hum posted on 06/22/2006

As I got my system setup properly, I started to notice that their was a slight (VERY small) hum in my motor. Stelly was good enough to send out a replacement, but it was still not absolutely silent. This upgrade did the trick. As a bonus you can switch from 33 to 45 without the cumbersome motor change, which is a plus. Only negative is that the included cord (from this unit to the table) is very short so it limits the placement options. Worth every dime for Pro-Ject owners.

PS - Stelly, please stop trying to sell me Starland Vocal Band LPs whenever I place an order. I know you dig them, but I'm just not interested...

I see in all the ad's for the Speedbox no one says anything about that in the US it change the mains from 60Hz to 50Hz and you can use it in any Thorens with 16volt motor and a 50Hz pulley making One Hell of a Great Up-Grade for my Thorens and sound as good as a Linn

This is a terrific upgrade for the Pro-Ject Debut III. There is less flutter, and you no longer have to remove the platter to change speeds.

As another review mentions, the cable is quite short and I had to be creative in placing things on my rack.

Still, for what you get, it is well worth the money.

Do not forget to set the turntable belt on the 45rpm speed pulley otherwise you may get very unusual results. Otherwise a very straightforward installation with excellent results.

I added the speedbox to my Music Hall 5.1 turntable and the improvement was not subtle. The improvement in pace and timing was remarkable. For the price you owe it to yourself to add this to your Pro-ject or Music Hall table.
