The entire signal path from preamplifier input to speaker drivers contains conductive parts that can be magnetized. When an audio signal passes through a magnetic field, it is prone to magnetically induced distortion (MID) that manifests itself as a "whiteness," a lack of inter-transient silence and reduced sound-stage depth. Regular use guards against the gradual degradation and ensures the highest level of musical performance by dispelling magnetic buildup.
The Exorcist System Demagnetizer is housed in a perfectly-finished metal extrusion sized like a hand-held remote. It is powered by a 9V battery and carries instructions on the upper surface.
To use, simply plug the Exorcist onto a line socket, switch on, set the preamp's level as per the instructions and let the signal do its work until fade-out, after about 35 seconds.
