It follows the ORIGINAL layout, folks! posted on 12/26/2016 5 Stars Reviewer: F. P. Walter I agree with M. Mitchell about the splendid sonics on this Rubinstein classic. However, Mitchell is misguided in wishing for tracks during the Rachmaninoff Rhapsody: there were NONE on the original LP issue, and for good and sufficient reason -- the music is continuous, with no movement breaks; busting the piece into some twenty :50 bands was a dubious innovation of the CD era! So don't be deterred by Mitchell's remarks -- this is the way we heard the piece back then ... it's the way the piece is meant to be heard ... and, actually, it now sounds better than ever on this paint-fresh remastering!

Disappointing layout posted on 09/19/2015 3 Stars Reviewer: M. Mitchell The sound is great. That's not the disappointing part. The entire release has just two tracks; one track for the 24 Variations, and one track for the three movements of Nights in the Gardens of Spain. If you listen with no video output you may not mind -- until you try to find the famous 18th Variation. Good luck with that. If this were re-released with proper encoding I would buy it again.
