Mastered by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray

As founding member of the premiere late '60s power pop rockers Nazz, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter and producer Todd Rundgren was barely in his 20s when he began his long solo journey with success as one of the music industry's most prolific and celebrated rock artists.

For his 12th solo album The Ever Popular Tortured Artist Effect, Todd Rundgren delivers nine solid performances which add up to form one of his most revered efforts of the '80's. As with many of his solo albums, Rundgren played all of the instruments, sang and produced the album while songs like the smash hit single "Bang the Drum All Day" and the charting single "Hideaway" catapulted his marquee as a first-rate singer/songwriter even further.

Filled with exceptional guitar work, solid lyrical imagery and stellar vocals, Rundgren truly puts it all on the line on every tune. Additional fare like the uptempo keyboard techno groover "Influenza," the R&B infused "There Goes Your Baybay," the brilliant "Don't Hurt Yourself," and Beatlesque "Drive" helped make The Ever Popular Tortured Artist Effect a go-to album for many rock radio programmers during its chart run in 1982-83.
