Micromega MyDAC

Every so often in high-end audio a product comes along that shatters the price-to-performance ratio we've come to expect in a category.  Think the NAD 3020 integrated amplifier in the 1970s, the Adcom GFA amplifiers in the 1980s, the PSB Alpha speaker in the 1990s, and the Cambridge Audio 840C CD player in the 2000's.  You can add another future legend to that list:  The Micromega MyDAC.

MyDAC is the perfect link between your computer and your HiFi system.  It's a 24 bits / 192 kHz asynchronous USB Dac allowing you to enjoy with an audiophile quality, the content of the music files stored in your computer.  You will also be able to access the multiple faces of the world of streaming with platforms like Deezer, Spotify, Pandora...Discovering MyDAC is a must!

Ed has described this D/A very well. This is just a magnificently designed piece of equipment. I really like vinyl. I have a Clearaudio Concept and Benz Wood High Output Cart in one room and an AR-XA with an Empire 888 Cart in the other. Indeed the coax sounds fantastic; very smooth and refined! It sounds so good that after 2 months I haven't even listened to the toslink or the USB/computer connections seriously yet! All I can say right now is if you have a modest or older CDP, the MyDac will make the world new again. A lot of Audio for very little money. Get your charge card out & don't delay.

I now love digital as well as vinyl!

Most people that buy from Acoustic Sounds (I think) are vinyl fans. I fall into that category. I have a beautiful Music Hall mmf 5.1se. I thought digital was just plain awful....until I got and broke in this device. I hooked up my Apple AirPort Express to the optical input because my computer, which is chock full of imported CDs (lossless, of course), is in a different room. They sound quite good through this "gadget" and my Vandersteen speakers. But where this device REALLY seems to shine is when I listen to the actual CDs through the coax input. I'm listening to some Rachmaninov and the piano sounds just like the Steinway it was played on. Amazing! So, while I still love my record collection, I now appreciate my digital collection a lot more than I used to. Once again Acoustic Sounds picked a winning piece of equipment to sell. Thank you! One more thing. While this device is made of plastic, it is for a reason. Don't let that affect your decision.
