Impressive!

This album was my introduction to AP/QRP, and to say that I'm a huge fan of their work would be an understatement! As far as vinyl goes this has to be the closest thing to perfection I've ever seen or heard. I didn't even clean it first before playing, which is a rarity regardless of new or secondhand. A light brushing on each side was all that was required for me and I was off and running. Dead silent noise floor, not an errant pop to be heard throughout, a rarity indeed! Dynamics, soundstage, EQ, sublime, seriously! I agree with others in saying that this recording is about as Pink as there is, up there with Pros and Cons, which I'm quite partial to. I'd be in heaven if AP/QRP did that one too, which they should in my humble opinion. Best Sounding Record Ever?

I got my new copy in the U.K. as a Christmas present from my wife. I broke the seal on Christmas Day and went straight to the title track. To say I was upset would be an understatement, it had pops and clicks on it that was a lot more than just static discharge. After carefully examining the record, it had a number of white marks that looked like damage from being dropped or banged in someway. However as the record was sealed and with no damage to the cover or packaging it can only have come from the pressing plant. As Analogue Productions boast the best QC it seamed rather ironic and very disappointing. I got a replacement and this was much better but still wasn’t perfect. However the sound quality more than made up for the slight imperfections. WOW ! I have many great sounding records Audiophile and Originals and this to my ears is the best non-classical record I’ve heard. Is it the best sounding record ever? Probably not, but it’s up with my finest Decca SXL’s
Bravery ruins it for me

Sonically is beautiful. The re recorded version of bravery unfortunately renders this version of the album unlistenable to me. Maybe I’m being too over critical but it is such a brilliant record Roger should have left well enough alone in my opinion. I sold my Copy and sought out an original press. My god it’s perfection.

First copy I received very noisy, particularly in lead in grooves, side a first track lots of pops / ticks, as did side d (sounded like it came from Goodwill).
Acoustic Sounds customer service shipped out replacement free of charge. 5 stars for their customer service. This pressing is better but still several pops/clicks.
Guess time for a deep clean to see if it helps. If not, always Sugar Cube (although shouldn't have to on a brand new record)
Roger Waters Masterpiece

Amused To Death, Roger Water's last solo effort, his enduring Tour- De- Force, a must have for Pink Floyd fans. Pressed on 200 gram vinyl and newly remastered, for the 21st century, sound quality is off the charts. A high quality QRP pressing, totally flat, featuring over the top dynamics and lush analog sound. Background and surface noise are all but non-existent. The material is more timely today than ever. Love it or hate it, ATD's production qualities are some of the best ever laid down on tape and cut to vinyl. With so much to hear, and sonic information to absorb, multiple plays are needed to digest the full scope and meaning of the material. Recorded in Q-Sound, ATD is among the best sounding Rock albums ever pressed. The material fits perfectly beside Pink Floyd classics, such as Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, Wish you Were Here, The Wall, and The Final Cut. Long out of print, ATD is again available on vinyl for a fraction of what original LP's cost today.

The music may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the sound on this record is the best I've heard--and I have been purchasing many "audiophile" releases of late (none of which come close to this). It will really become the reference for your system, and, for that alone, it's worth the price. If you can find this for a discount, snatch it up quick!
QRP Production standards slipping?

Whilst I agree with all the comments posted on the quality of the recording my QRP produced copy arrived as a less than perfect print. Very bad grazing surrounding the lead in groove on Side C which, if you don't land the stylus directly in the groove makes a most alarming noise. Further, the spindle holes are too large. This is not the standard we've come to expect from QRP.

This release is absolutely amazing. I can't believe the incredible sound coming from my speakers. At times sounds come from all over the room and I only have two speakers. Perfect music, perfectly mastered, perfect pressing and a perfect sleeve/artwork. Probably one of the top ten best sounding records of all time. It's scary how relevant the lyrics are even today. Highly recommended.

Wow was my first expression. I have the original version and cd version of the album. This new version astonished me. Quiet IS quiet....my Clearaudio finds the best from it. One of the best ones and well worth waiting for it.
New vs. Original

I have a mint condition original I've enjoyed and been amazed by, however, I was tempted to buy this new release to see how it compared. Well the jury is in. The new version is slightly, but quite noticeably clearer and more dynamic. The sound stage is more forward, taller and even more rap-around than the original, which is saying a lot. At least these are my observations on my system. So if you're ever tempted to pick up the original thinking it'll be better, don't bother.

This is the best way to hear this album, I have the SACD and even surround sound can't compete with the sound you get from the 200g vinyl. Deep, dark sound with one of the quietest sound stages I have for anything in my collection. Right up there with my 45RPM Org Remaster of Blood, Sweat and Tears. A must have for any Rodger Waters and Pink Floyd Fan.

I am very familiar with this work, having listening to it for years. It is, in my opinion, a work of art on par with The Wall.
Analog Productions really knocked it out of the park with this remaster. Yes, there were some liberties taken with the remastering but they are not distracting and they reinforce the message. I was upset when I heard about changes; upon listening I understand why this was done. The clarity is outstanding. The surfaces are as quiet as any record I own and far quieter than most. The dynamic range of this record really takes advantage of them too!
If you have the CD, buy this record. You will be glad you did, the clarity and range are off the charts. If you have never heard this work (I envy you because you get to hear it for the first time) buy this record put it on and turn it UP and you will be blown away!

Absolutely fantastic. I have not ever experienced a record such as this. Sound stage is off the charts. I have sounds/details coming from nearly behind me (two channel stereo....of course). Amazing. Clarity is unmatched. Four thumbs up. I could go on, but I'm gonna go listen more. Buy this. It is really good.

Listening to this record cannot be compared to any other! The dynamic range is huge! The bass is full and tight, no distortion. Midrange is clear and one can hear every word as if spoken next to you. I can not think of any record I have listened to which comes close to the experience! Get it and listen to it , you would not regret spending the money on this one. Just played it again on Thorens TD 166mkII and Grado reference Platinum cartridge- beautiful recording...

I have the Original 1992 I bought while living in England. I would have to say that this is one of the best recorded albums for soundstage experience. Its a full 360% sound. Not much can compete with this LP. Looking forward to getting the re-issue good luck trying to match this one!
