"An extraordinary record ... The next chapter in what has been a compelling last decade of music making." — Uncut Magazine

The first album of original music from Neil Young and Crazy Horse in almost a decade, including more than 85 minutes of music. Psychedelic Pill pokes down pathways that have been hinted at before in this teaming, but never fully explored. New textures emerge in the music, new landscapes in the lyrics. In many ways, Psychedelic Pill rounds out an array of probing works with prominent autobiographical threads.

Whether as a singer, a songwriter or a guitarist, Neil Young has been one of the most influential and important artists of the rock era. Blending folk, country and rock, the acoustic and the electric, the melancholy and the hopeful, Young has been an icon for the uncompromising and unpredictable since the 1960s.

Monster jams! Digital KILLER!

Sound 5 stars, music 4 stars. I’ll fess up I am a big Neil Young fan & there is not much he has produced that I don’t like. However, I was a bit disappointed with the 1st listen, but 2nd time the tunes started to grow on me & so I cranked the volume more. You need to play this LOUD! The jams are super long with Neil & the boys doing what they do best. I would not use this LP to demo the Hifi qualities of a system, but these black slabs open up the louder they are played. This is an all analogue recording with huge live beefiness! Side 2 Neil sings “Don’t want my MP3” obviously referencing Dire Straits “I want my MTV”. In 1985 the digital future was demoed on “Brothers In Arms”,but now we have Neil answering back saying ANALOGUE gives you ALL the sound & not just bits of it. I have never heard any CD/SACD come close to what you get from this vinyl. Just one complaint Neil, the small font in the lyrics booklet makes reading painful.
