The dB's were a jangle pop/power pop group of the late 1970s and 1980s. The bandmembers were Peter Holsapple, Chris Stamey, Will Rigby and Gene Holder, all of whom were from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The group was formed in New York City.

The dB's have been working on a new album since reuniting in 2005. The band's publicist explains that the band has taken its time recording "due to conflicting geography, work and tour schedules." The band will release Falling Off the Sky on Bar/None Records with the band's original lineup of singer/songwriter/guitarists Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey, bassist Gene Holder and drummer Will Rigby. It will be the first time in 30 years that the original lineup will be featured together after such beloved early-'80s classics like Stands for deciBels and Repercussion.
