i have the mfsl and the shm-cd version. this replaces them all. benny and the jets i can hear the crowd cheering better than ever. i've seen that movies too, all detail comes out and not drowned out in the background like the other 2 cd versions. it's a must have. one flaw it does'nt look like the original fold out version lp cover.

One of the best EJ albums ever. The sound is perfect and crystal.

Okay, let's get the sound quality out of the way first. It's amazing. However, this is not one of my favorite Elton John albums. For as many good songs on it there are a lot of boring ones. It's too bad they have not re-done Honky Tonk Chateau.

I have to confess, I have only recently started listening to vinyl after an absence of about 30 years [ yes, I'm 57 years old ]. Reason is simple, I have just treated myself to a mid life crisis tube system including amp, phono pre-stage and tube cd player and Ars Aures speakers. In addition I have a Rega Planar 3 original [ reconditioned ] turntable with an OM40 cartridge. This album was a throwback to my mis-spent youth and sounds amazing on my system. I have compared it to the CD...no comparison...this must be one of the all time great albums of any genre and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The sound presence is immaculate and I can even here EJ's feet on the piano pedals. All this and I'm not really a great EJ fan !!!
