Audio Fidelity releases 24 Karat Gold CD versions of Phil Collins' Hello, I Must Be Going! and Bachman Turner Overdrive's Not Fragile.
Numbered, limited editions to be retired after initial runs have sold out
Hello, I Must Be Going! is the second studio album by Phil Collins. Like his previous solo album, 1981's Face Value, Phil plays drums and percussion and does all the vocals and keyboards. The variety of moods, tempos and ideas is striking - the musicianship is very mature, sophisticated, and well produced. Phil does a good job at creating moods with his voice and drums as all the chord sequences and tempo changes revolve around the drum patterns.
On this 1982 release Collins began to inject his highly melodic pop songwriting with more soul and R&B influences. The triple-platinum album contains the cover version of The Supremes hit "You Can't Hurry Love" which was Phil's first US Top 10. "I Dont Care Anymore" also reached the Top 40 charts. Other notable tracks include the modern-jazz instrumental "The West Side" and the FM rock radio favorite, "It Don't Matter To Me" which has a nice horn riff from The Phoenix Horns and great guitars and drums. Every song here is first-rate.
