Another Cat Stevens' classic on the heels of Tea for the Tillerman You already know the hits: "Moonshadow," "Peace Train," "Morning Has Broken." An immediate gold-record seller, Cat Stevens' fifth album Teaser and the Firecat, released in 1971, just missed the top of the U.S. charts and hit the Top Five in the United Kingdom. The very first title pressed at Quality Record Pressings, Stevens' Tea for the Tillerman, was a sonic home-run as we introduced Acoustic Sounds' own in-house pressing plant to audiophiles worldwide. And now to follow that success we've got more Cat Stevens' classic reissues — Teaser and the Firecat, and Catch Bull At Four, both albums on 200-gram vinyl. Cat Stevens, the son of a Swedish mother and a Greek father — a London restauranteer — scored a string of chart-making hits with these releases, putting him in the company of legendary singer-songwriters such as James Taylor, Carole King and others. On Teaser and the Firecat, Stevens combined a personal, introspective writing touch with an instinct for pop music melodies coupled with sensitive, yet powerful vocals. As one reviewer noted, Teaser's songs came in two modes: gentle ballads that usually found Stevens and second guitarist Alun Davies playing delicate lines over sensitive love lyrics, and up-tempo numbers where the guitarists strummed away as thundering drums played in stop-start rythms. "Peace Train" and "Morning Has Broken" each reached the pop Top Ten. Get your copy of Teaser and the Firecat now. Cut from the original analog master tapes at Sterling Sound. Fine gatefold jacket, textured paper stock outside, glossy interior. Cat Stevens, vocals, guitar and keyboards
