First released in 1979, Deguello was three years in the making. Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard had disappeared into the sagebrush to recharge their batteries following their grueling World Texas Tour. They returned with a new antic sense of themselves that first appeared in songs like "Cheap Sunglasses," "She Loves My Automobile" and "Esther Be The One" and came to fruition almost four years later with Eliminator. Deguello forges that last link to the band's early blues-rock years, before they became the sleeker, less threatening entity that graced MTV during the '80s.

Excellent vinyl re-issue. On a scale of 1-10 the audio quality of the pressing is a 10. The music however is an 11. Strong buy recommendation.

The Image you see here is a replica of the original promo slip cover. The common "red" cover is inside. It's a very nice detail to recreate the original artwork. Mastered by Chris Bellman. Sounds great. He stays true to the original mastering with this and Rio Grande Mud as well. The pressing quality is a good as it gets.

Great album, great sound, but the album artwork is different than the original release. Since part of the joy of LPs is the artwork and especially with re-issues fidelity to the original release is very important, the fact that this one uses different artwork forces me to give it a "4" instead of a "5." But keep in mind that the music on the LP is worth a 10!

VERY BRIGHT SOUND SOMETIMES A LITTLE DISTORTED IN HIGH SOUND SPECTRUM..THE OLDER VERSION THE ORIGINAL ONE WAS MORE LAID BACK SOUND, MORE I WOULD SAY ,MUSICAL ,OTHERWISE ONE OF THE LAST TRUE HEAVY BLUES CREATIONS BELONGING TO THIS GREAT TEXAS TRIO..
