the music on this album is great, the quality of the pressing is a disgrace.i have a nimbus super cut copy of this record I bought 20 years ago and this comes nowhere near it,the sound is flat and unengaging and the pressing is awful.

Great Sound, but the crackles and pops!

The mastering is excellent and the album itself is great. However, there's a constant low level background crackle that's clearly audible in the quiet sections. There's also the occasional click and pop. At first I thought it might be dirty, so put it though my vacuum disc washer, but that didn't help. It's a great shame as this is an excellent remastering. The previous reviewer said his copy was dead quiet, so obviously the noise is not an issue with all the copies. I may buying another one and try again.

I have an Australian 1970s pressing of this exceptional album, so I already knew how great the tracks are, but nothing prepared me for the amazing dynamics and realism of this remastered LP.

Apart from the superb acoustics, the absolute background silence is extraordinary. I've been disappointed by the clicks and pops on some "audiophile" LPs I've bought recently, but this one had no hint of such pressing problems.

Exemplary in every way. I've only given it 4 from 5, in the hope that someone presses it to 45RPM to achieve even better results. I'd class it for pressing/sound quality as among the top 20 LPs in my 4000-strong (mainly classical) collection, and in the top 200 for content quality.

Overwhelmingly recommended!
