This collection of classic jazz interpretations by Billie Holiday features all-star accompaniments from various sessions from 1935 to 1937. Tracks 5 & 6 on Side A and tracks 4 & 5 on side B were taken from Billie's first and fifth sessions under her own name.

This is the only record of a young Billie I have and it really is great to hear her before life took it's toll on her voice. The music is fun, sensual. The mastering and pressing are very good especially considering the masters were around 80 years old when this was mastered and pressed. The actual pressings are a little quiet so you will need to turn your amp up one or two notches. No loudness wars here, thank you very much.

If this is the only record of Billie Holiday's you ever own you made a good choice.
