"...these are all truly classic Verve titles that you simply don't want to miss...most importantly, the sound of these reissues is nothing short of astounding. Particularly the early Billie and Ella mono records are incredible treasures of sonic beauty. I'd definitely ask Santa for the whole set, or, if you want to cherry pick, the most classic titles. Whatever you decide, you owe yourself at least a half dozen!" Winner of a 2012 Positive Feedback Online Writers' Choice Award - Danny Kaey, Positive Feedback Online, November/December 2011

Echoing another reviewer...I second that motion... Harlem Nocturne on its own is 100 per cent worth the price of admission. Wow....what an amazing pleasure it was just now when I played it for the first time. Chapeau!! SUPER WELL DONE. This lp sounds so beautiful and warm. Thank You Acoustic Sounds for bringing this amazing organic music to us in a way that sounds so delicious.

Was vacuuming, put this record on, and boy, what a swinging deep clean session it was! The music and recording contained within are simply outstanding, with Mr. Jacquet's tenor sax very nicely backed up by the who's who of jazz royalty. Have since given it many more listens without the vacuum cleaner. The jaundiced yellow cover "jacquet" belies this gem of a swinging session. A+++

This is a great album, with terrific sound. It's one of those mono albums which will make a mono believer out of fans of stereo sound.

The tune, Harlem Nocturne, is in its own league. An incredible track, it will practically have you running to produce your own film noir.

I don't have a mono cartridge yet I agree with the previous post. I have hundreds of AP releases and this ranks with the best of them.
