Elvis Presley 24 Karat Hits, 180-gram, 45 RPM three LP set

Mastered from the original analog tapes by George Marino at Sterling Sound

An audiophile dream set; the best sounding Elvis record ever pressed!

Includes every one of the King's all-time greatest singles

"Thick vinyl rotating at 45 RPM, two dozen certified Presley masterpieces, mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound from the original 1, 2 and 3-track masters: it doesn't get any better than this, musically or sonically." Sound Quality: 90% - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, March 2011

"All I can say is this set is an Elvis fan's dream come true...destined to be a collector's item." Music = 9/11; Sound = 9/11 - Michael Fremer, musicangle

It's no understatement to call Evis Presley the chief catalyst of the rock 'n' roll era. Presley earned his nickname "The King" by releasing dozens of course-altering singles over the course of his influential career; during the 1950s Presley's records spent a collective 53 weeks in the No. 1 chart position. Almost everything you could want from Elvis is in one towering collection — 24 Karat Hits, now a brilliant 45 RPM, three-LP set released by Analogue Productions!

Elvis' 24 greatest recordings here are painstakingly compiled and remastered from the original 1, 2 and 3-track master tapes lovingly stored in the vaults of RCA-Victor. All the hits are here from 1956's "Heartbreak Hotel" to 1969's "Suspicious Minds." This three-LP Fort Knox of music is mandatory for every music lover, let alone Presley diehards and record collectors. A long-out-of-print audiophile favorite — known for its first-rate sound quality — it gets the royal treatment here on six wide-grooved sides of 45 RPM 180-gram super-silent vinyl. Incredible!

Until now, Elvis fans have satiated their desires with the prized DCC double LP edition (reaching prices upwards of $350 on eBay) as well as the DCC gold disc (a rare find fetching $150 and more). Now no longer do you have to pay a premium to enjoy the magic of Presley's voice, rhythms and foundation-paving melodies. Mastered by George Marino, the King's best work has never sounded so intimate, detailed, present and alive. Images are true, tones are balanced, and the unbeatable warmth that only analog provides comes through unabated on every cut.

Contained in the grooves of this album are some of the best rock 'n' roll cuts recorded in the last 50 years. Had Elvis Presley done nothing else but record "That's Alright, Mama," his place in pop music history would be secure. Presley fused rhythm and blues with country and legitimized beat music for white audiences. On 24 Karat Hits, every memorable facet of Presley's multiple personas is represented:The hip-shaking rebel ("Jailhouse Rock"), sensitive balladeer ("Can't Help Falling in Love"), beckoning romantic ("Are You Lonesome Tonight"), teen idol ("(Let Me Be) Your Teddy Bear"), socially conscious soul man ("In the Ghetto"), and passionate loverman ("Suspicious Minds"). The two dozen songs on this golden compilation read like a history of pop music and play like it is unfolding before our very eyes. There's no substitution for the experience this set provides.

Do not miss the chance to own part of American history in unsurpassed fidelity that brings the cream of Elvis' music into your room, in stunning clarity.

This release is a gem. Buy two copies: One to treat your ears, the sealed copy to treasure as an investment. Solid audiophile gold — indeed!

Obviously this is an amazing sounding record. It's cut at 45 rpm and all analogue. It's Elvis like you've never heard him before. I must also give a shout out to Acoustic Sounds and their excellent customer service. My outer jacket arrived with a few short seam splits from the LPs jostling around during shipping but they were still ugly on such a nice jacket. Sometimes this just happens with sealed records. I knew it was a shot in the dark but I contacted them about possibly getting a replacement jacket, and sure enough they had one available and shipped it out to me pronto. I couldn't be happier!

Ever wanted a private performance of Elvis singing live in your living room for you? Well this is it or at least as close as it gets. Analog Productions struck gold with this one. Absolutely phenomenal album and the sound quality is like no other. Perfectly flat and dead quiet. Undeniably my best sounding Elvis album in my collection and I own quit a few.

3 LP excellent Pressings! I should of gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because the quality of the jacket, squeezing all 3 LP into a jacket that suprising fits all 3 but it would of been very nice if it was placed into a box set or 2 slots at least for 3 LPs, When I received it, was with 3 other albums I have purchased and the 3 LPs where placed in between 2 of my other albums and into the plastic cover that would be used for the jacket of the album & not placed into the jacket, that was very odd! But very high quality sound, Sounds great on my Marantz TT-15S1 TT with Clearaudio Charisma. Cartridge.

Sounds good.

Sonically, this is the best I have ever heard Elvis. I was born the day he recorded Heartbreak Hotel so it stands to reason I have an intimate connection with the track and have been searching for a decent sound source ever since. I'm guessing the first presses of the single were the best to offer heretofore but as mint copies go for way too much money I am thrilled that I finally have something that is as good if not better!. The mono tracks are the most revelatory as I have heard decent sources of the stereos, but in rare cases never the monos. Great job and well worth the money for that one track alone!

Fantastic Fidelity!

This is a MUST HAVE. The fidelity is fantastic. The mastering is very well done. Cannot believe how good this set sounds. Many have said the quality of the jacket is questionable, but it seems to be of decent quality...but the sound, OMG...if you like the King, you owe it to yourself to pick up this title.

Fantastic! But with a Couple Cons

Just as other reviewers state, this album set is the best quality I have ever heard these songs! You can literally hear the King taking breaths! It's as if The King is live in my living room. I do have to point out that there is a surprising amount of surface noise, although not super loud, it is noticeable on a high end system. My Analogue Productions 45 RPM pressing of The Doors did not have Any surface noise, so I expected the same with this. The other con is that a pressing this beautiful should have been packaged in a double gatefold outer sleeve, so that each record has it's own slot. Throwing all 3 records in one sleeve scares me with a record this expensive. The mono tracks sound as good as they can sound, I suppose. But the stereo tracks are where this record set Really shines! All in all, I am Very happy with this pressing.

The King has never sounded better than this outstanding 45 rpm release . Vinyl was flat and centered and without cleaning only heard one faint crackle out of the 3lp set.

I deliberated for weeks over buying this album. But I figured my first 45rpm album should be Elvis since he is one of my favorites. This album did not disappoint. I played everything last night, and the music is still resonating in my head. I think my favorite was "Love Me", which is strange because it was never one of my favorites. But his voice on this song is unreal on this particular album. Such a treat. Such a great introduction to the 45rpm land. Thank you for producing a wonderful album.

This album sounds so much better than any Elvis recording I have ever heard. A great job. Didn't really need another recording of Elvis hits--but I'm so glad I took a chance and got just one more. This is stupid good.

I have debated about purchasing this LP for several months now. I have the vinyl version of most everything Elvis released, and in some cases, multiple versions of the same album. I thought, do I really need another album of songs that I already have multiple versions of. Finally, the reviewers here convinced me that I did, and I am grateful to them for it! The sound quality of this 3 LP set is everything the other reviewers say that it is! I love to hear music as it would have sounded upon first playback in the recording studio, without the compression that causes many facets of the music to become inaudible. I never bought the DCC version of this album, but I'm very glad I bought this version!

Fantastic mastering and production. While the original analog masters show their face on the first LP as the quality of the masters improves so does the impact of the remaster. I've never heard Elvis sound so impressive. If you enjoy the 'King' you should take a chance on this album. Vibrant, punchy and flawlessly presented.

Good Sound quality with Cheap outer Jacket

Cheap outer jacket. Three records in one thin stock 50 cent jacket with poor graphics. Come on Chad I expected much better for $75. Stop trying to squeeze every ounce of profit off these reissues and provide a quality outer jacket to match the records. The sound quality of this 45 rpm set was significantly superior to the DCC 33 1/3 reissue. I have one original "Elvis Golden Records" from 1958 I compared this reissue to and overall the 45 rpm set had much better detail, depth and presence but the original was still engaging and alive with excellent energy. The later stereo tracks had much better dynamics and vocal presence than the early mono tracks but it was enjoyable to listen too all the music. 24 Karats will never be a demo disc to show off your system but it's probably the best sound that can be achieved to show off Elvis considering the quality of the early recordings. Fairly quite surfaces on the vinyl and the records were flat. I would give the Music and mastering 4 1/2 stars and the Jacket 1 star.

couldn't be any better

The first few tracks are good, the last third or so of the album is stellar. I imagine that much more time and effort were put into the recording process later vs. earlier in Elvis' career. I can't imagine this record sounding any better. Just wish those original recording engineers had been as meticulous with Elvis' early cuts as they were with his later cuts. Great job!

Hound Dog, Don't be Cruel and All shook up are so impressive that I would have payed full price for those tracks alone. I have NEVER heard them swing and breathe like this. The Piano on Don't be cruel. Wow. I never realized it was so tastefully played and beautifully recorded. However, due to the hi-fi nature of this release , the more echo laden tracks seem unfortunate in that the echo on elvis' vocal was printed to the session tape. No reason not to purchase this set, though.

I've never been a real fan of Elvis, but when I saw this album, and noticed it is 45rpms and on 200gram vinyl I thought this is the time to listen to his music. I am absolutely delighted and impressed with this album. Listening to this album is a completely different experience to any of my previous listens to Elvis.

When you think, the DCC release was good, then here's the record to show you what 45rpm can do. It's simply the best possible sound and it felt as if I welcomed Elvis in my room! I could write a lot, but this is something you really have to hear! Congratulations to that pressing to the engineers of Analogue Productions.

So much Hate for Elvis, espically his RCA work. Listening to this great sounding record should remind all about Elvis' appeal. Also, just got back from visiting Studio B in Nashville. Simple place, simple equipment - Great Music.
