Here's something all the critics can agree on: Elvis Costello's first three albums are among the greatest records ever made. Mobile Fidelity remastered each title from the original master tapes and pressed them onto limited-edition 180-gram vinyl. For the first time ever, hear Costello's landmark 1977 debut My Aim Is True, 1978's caustic masterpiece This Year's Model and 1979's pop-fueled favorite Armed Forces in dynamic, analog sound! Each record features the original U.K. art. Pump it up!

Largely written on tour, Elvis Costello's Armed Forces takes the concept of personal politics to a new level. A supremely melodic and hook-laden record, the 1979 set is a showcase of scintillating keyboard lines, sharp guitar work and the most cohesive arrangements of Costello and the Attractions' career. In every way, this is a pop masterpiece, defined by hits such as "Accidents Will Happen," "Oliver's Army" and the anthemic "What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love and Understanding?"

At Their Peak

Elvis & the Attractions at their musical & lyrical peak - which they hit with their previous record and just kept going full-tilt through this one. I heard details and previously hard-to-detect nuances throughout the very first spin - this is perhaps the most revealing of the first three records...and that's saying something. Yeah, you can "hear" its age, but this LP has a wide & deep soundstage, excellent dynamics, improved "air", articulate bass, and the usual quiet MoFi vinyl that lets the sounds emerge from near-dead silence. A masterpiece in a cardboard sleeve!
