Featuring a couple of duets, some Bardot-sung, Gainsbourg-penned, and a number of Serge-only tunes, this is not, technically, a completely collaborative record. It is, however, one of Gainsbourg's finest releases featuring a wide range of style from moody, funky French-pop ("Bonnie And Clyde", to barroom piano jazz ("Bubble Gum"), to Afro-Caribbean rhythms ("Pauvre Lola" and "Baudelaire"), to the swinging '60s pop he was most known for at the time ("Docteur Jeckyll et Monsieur Hyde"). A classic from these two French heroes, originally released in 1968, is reissued here on 180-gram vinyl with a high quality tip-on jacket.
