Rodrigo (Sanchez) and Gabriela (Quintero) are two fast-fingered, Dublin-based Mexicans with a unique sound created on acoustic guitars. Their music is difficult to define, straddling both world and rock, and often imbued with timeless Hispano-classical influences. The fire in it comes from their life-long passion for metal music. Rodrigo y Gabriela's most recent studio album was recorded in Bath with legendary producer John Leckie.

Great album, terrible pressing.

I was disappointed to put this on my turntable and have the opening notes of "Tamacun" overpowered with surface noise. It's not something you notice in the loud sections, but once it quiets down you'll think that you're playing an old beat up 78 or something.

Another thing is the mastering, like some stated below, it's just flat and void of any real dynamic. Definitely NOT an audiophile pressing like it states.

Just a really poor pressing of a tremendous album, it makes me want to write the record label and tell them to remove the "180g audiophile" promo sticker from the front of this. It's just false advertising.

You should get this vinyl. As stated above, it is not an audiophile CD.. but it doesn't have the clipping the CD has, plus dynamics and stereo imaging is way better.

In this recording you can actually listen to them both on the sound stage placed at the same distance and with the same presence, as opposed to Rodrigo centered and closer on the CD.

As a fan of their work and a fellow Mexican, I was really glad to have a better version of the recording.

great music but noisy very 'non-audiophile' vinyl. Dynamics better than the Cd but not as it should be.

Great Music but Horrible Sound

The music on this album is outstanding. Unfortunately, the sound quality is atrocious. It is stripped completely of any dynamics. All this album consists of is two acoustic guitars - an instrument that sizzles with life an energy. But you wouldn't know it on this record, because they are so dead sounding.

Rodrigo and Gabriela, if you ever read this, demand better sound for your amazing music!
