Recorded at JC/DC Studios by Dave Carswell and John Collins, with Colin Stewart handling additional recording and mixing at Gallupe Manor and Vogville Studios, Fables shows another dimension of the Immaculate Machine sound. Warm reverb envelops the songs, capturing the feel of classic '60s recordings – a time when the source of the sound and the feel of the room exceeded the desire for the unnecessary overdubbing of so many of today's recordings.
