Perhaps THE Most Must-Own SACD title since the Music for Organ, Brass and Timpani on the Sonoma label.

"The sound quality is outstanding and the disc timing is generous at 76+ minutes. There are not many comparable discs that offer performances of this standard and certainly nothing in the DSD market comes close…Highly recommended and not to be missed." – Richard Foster, Hi-Fi+, Issue 50

One of the world's most distinguished chamber ensembles performing four pieces of Mozart's chamber music. This is the first new recording by the Boston Symphony Chamber Players since 1998. Here we have remarkably-accomplished players performing famous works by one of the finest chamber composers – and all with audiophile treatment. The recording engineer is John Newton, the same engineer who has mastered the RCA Living Stereo SACD reissues.

This disc includes all three major chamber works by Mozart for strings and winds, which he composed specifically for instrumental virtuosos of this time. The disc also includes the seldom-heard Flute Quartet in A, K.298, featuring BSO principal flute Elizabeth Rowe – a work composed by Mozart for a family he frequently joined at their Vienna home for informal evenings of music, games and discussion.

Not half bad

This is a pretty good CD, maybe a little too laid back back musically but nicely performed with decent sound quality. I would recomend it particularly if you have an SACD player. It's definitely more than backgroud music.

This one's as good as the reviews. I'm listening to the "Quintet in Eb for horn, violine, twin violas and cello K.407" right now. The balance is wonderful and the horn is really cutting loose. I've heard this before sounding polite and reserved, but this is exuberant.

The flute tone on "Quartet in A for flute, violin, viola and cello, K.298" is rich and brilliant. Once again, the balance is perfect.

The oboe quartet and clarinet quintet are wonderful also. The timbre of each instrument is wonderfully captured.

The only thing I'd have them do different is release more great music.
