This wonderful album from Mr. Knopfler is a must-have for any fan who thinks they know what "Shangri-La" sounds like from hearing the CD release. I was astonished by the nuances and depth of this pressing-they did a great job mastering this. Unlike many titles from the audiophile genre that one has originally heard in analog form decades ago, this one being so recent and known only in its digital format becomes a relevation upon first and subsequent listenings. Grab it! And now I must feverently hope for an additional treatment and relase of Mark's great "Sailing To Philadelphia".

Real album to listen on real equipment

We all know that albums with obscure Japanese percussionists are pressed first-class and sound so good that only the best equipment can extract all out of them. That is great and I am happy it is so. However, if you are looking for an everyday kind of album that you may even like, while still getting the first-rate sound, try this one. If Mark Knopfler music is your cup of tea, this is his masterpiece. It was recorded in mid-2000s so the recording quality is exceptional. A vinyl record that clearly benefits from modern technologies. This record beats SACD and DVD-Audio, and CD of course, in sound quality. Very quiet vinyl, nice packaging, and so on. Worth every penny. Every penny you have spent on your equipment, that is. Highly recommended.
